Window Cleaning Tips

You know the frustrations. Fingerprints, nose marks from the dog and that gummy film on the glass can make windows hard to see through! The only way to get them clean is with a heavy duty commercial cleaner. Right?

Wrong.

We have been conditioned over the last 50 years to think that the only way we can get our windows (and other areas in our house) clean is by blasting them with chemical based cleaners. Many of these cleaners contain toxins that can do some pretty substantial damage to our health (asthma, skin irritations or cancer anyone?).

To get windows clean you don’t need to use toxic agents. There are a number of natural cleaners that do a job equal to those of chemical cleaners. And they are much safer.

If you have the time to make your own window cleaner (and really save money) grab a spray bottle and mix 25% distilled vinegar with 75% water. You will be amazed how easy it gets finger prints and grime off your windows.

To go the extra mile from an eco friendly perspective, stop using paper towels and start using cloths and rags. It will save you money in the long run because rags seem to last forever. Remember, paper towels can only be used once.

If you don’t have time to make your own natural cleaning products, there are many effective green cleaners on the market. Making the switch will benefit you, your family and the environment. Make it green and keep it clean!
